Job Title: AWS Data Engineer - Data PlatformsLocation: Universal City, CA (Remote)Duration: 6 MonthsNew Capgemini Onboarding Process UpdatesDue to additional onboarding requirements, a meet and greet is required for all new hires.Selected candidates must be willing to go to the closest Capgemini/Client office location as indicated by the project team to meet and greet with a Capgemini team member prior to starting their assignment.If the candidate is not local, Capgemini will pay the expenses.ResponsibilitiesImplement a highly scalable, and resilient data integration system using AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) with TypeScript and Python.Implement Infrastructure as Code and automated release management, ensuring the platform's scalability, and maintainability.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the data broker adheres to the highest security and compliance standards, safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining regulatory compliance across all processes.Engage as part of an Agile scrum software development team contributing to scrum ceremonies and collaborating with product owners and other engineers.Foster a culture of excellence within the development team by championing code quality, performing code review, and adhering to best practices in software engineering.Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies related to event-driven architectures and workflow automation. Proactively propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the platform's capabilities and adapt to evolving business needs.Actively contribute to and maintain the project codebase, demonstrating the ability to develop and enhance complex software solutions.Work with stakeholders to create technical requirements from business requirements.Work with the Engineering Manager, Technical Department Lead, and Technical Squad Leads to assess the scope of requested changes.Implement technical solutions for product-scoped technical requirements that align with Team, Department, and Enterprise Standards.Conduct code reviews, ensuring that code quality and performance standards are met across all squads.RequirementsBachelor's degree required from a four-year college or university, or comparable workforce experience is required; majors in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field preferred5+ years of work experience as a software engineer, with a strong focus on backend and middleware solutions, including API, compute, application-level networking, and security; 2+ years of experience creating ETL data pipelines, data infrastructure, or data systems.2+ years of work experience with AWS, specifically creating data pipelines in production using any or all of the following AWS services: AWS Glue, Step Functions, Athena, RDS, API Gateway, Lambda, SFTP, Eventbridge, SNS, SQS, SES, IAM.Expertise in Python, Typescript, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with a strong understanding of design principles such as SOLID, YAGNI, DRY, etc.Expertise in SQL.Experience with data analysis, data modeling, and data warehousing.Experience working with REST APIs and understanding of OAuth flows (Postman a plus) with a strong emphasis on integrating and interacting with third-party APIs.Experience with Git tooling required (GitHub preferred), including managing code repositories, implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, and configuring deployment workflows for automated deployments across multiple environments.Experience in creating practical, sound designs based on product team requirements and collaborating with the Technical Squad Leads and Technical Department Lead.Experience with VS Code preferred (adaptability and willingness to use VS Code required).Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and ability to solve complex technical problems.Ability to work well within a team environment, experience working remotely with widely distributed teams a plus.Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.Strong track record of delivering on time and within budget.Proficiency with Agile/Scrum practices.
