Job DescriptionLocation: Johnston, IA (Onsite)Job Title: Senior Embedded Security Engineer (Python Backend)Duration: 24 Months with a possible extensionPay Rate : $70-75/hrResponsibilities:Serve as a senior technical leader and security subject matter expert across multiple product lines.Define and review security architectures for embedded systems, ensuring security requirements are incorporated into embedded, cloud, and mobile solutions.Collaborate with embedded software, electrical engineering, cloud platform, and cross-functional teams to implement robust cryptographic security controls.Design secure key management and access control mechanisms for resource-constrained embedded environments.Develop innovative security solutions supporting autonomous systems.Influence secure software development practices, architecture decisions, and product security strategy.Identify security risks and recommend mitigation strategies throughout the product development lifecycle.Support secure integration between embedded devices and cloud-based platforms.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.8+ years of full-stack software development experience.Strong experience developing Python-based backend services.Experience working with Linux distributions.Hands-on experience implementing cryptographic security controls for embedded systems.Strong understanding of embedded software security principles.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience developing IoT devices.Strong knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), certificate lifecycle management, and key protection.Experience in DevOps environments.Experience developing AWS-native applications.Knowledge of embedded security best practices, secure boot, encryption, authentication, and secure communications.Technical Skills:PythonLinuxEmbedded SystemsCryptographyPKIAWSIoTDevOpsSecure ArchitectureCloud SecurityBackend DevelopmentAccess ControlKey ManagementWork Environment:Collaborative engineering environment.Cross-functional work with embedded, cloud, and mobile engineering teams.Opportunity to influence product architecture and enterprise security strategy.Work on cutting-edge embedded, autonomous, and connected technologies.
