Senior Digital Architect & Lift Applications Lead

Position Overview:Flowco is seeking a Senior Digital Architect & Lift Applications engineer to drive the next generation of AI- powered production optimization tools for artificial lift innovation, and digital engineering platforms.Candidate focus will be on deep domain expertise in artificial lift (Gas Lift, Plunger Lift, ESP, etc.), Full-stack software development, and AI/LLM-driven engineering workflowsThe position will lead the design and deployment of intelligent production systems capable of analyzing, optimizing, and automating oil & gas well performance at scale, transforming Flowco into a technology-driven, data-first production partner.Technology Development & InnovationContribute to R&D initiatives to expand application envelopes of Artificial Lift production and optimization platform technologiesSupport development and field deployment of new systems and support of existing systemsStay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive solutionsParticipate in technical publications, industry conferences, and knowledge sharingWork within multidisciplinary teams, Internal and External, including reservoir, production, development, sales and operations teamsMentor junior engineers and provide technical training to sales and operations teamsManage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentSupport strategic decision-making through technical expertise and data-driven insightsKey ResponsibilitiesTechnical Authority & Domain knowledge and executionSupport the company's goals and objectives, helping lead the company's expertise in artificial lift production optimizationProvide technical oversight and execution on digital tools for well design, analysis, diagnostics, performance and production optimizationHelping drive advanced digital engineering analysis across the company's lift capabilitiesBuild upon the company's best practices for artificial lift system design, surveillance, and troubleshooting AI & Digital Platform DevelopmentArchitect and lead development of AI-driven production optimization platformsBuild and deploy RAG-based engineering knowledge systems and LLM workflowsIntegrate real-time data sources (SCADA, well tests, downhole gauges) into intelligent systemsDevelop automated diagnostics, recommendations, and reporting engines Software development and engineering LeadershipLead and drive the development of production-grade engineering software platformsOversee architecture across:Simulation enginesIPR and VLP analysis toolsNodal analysis toolsData pipelines and analytics systemsGuide development in C#, .NET, Python, SQL, and cloud-based environmentsEnsure scalability, performance, and integration across Flowco's product lines Product Innovation & CommercializationBe part of a team that drives end-to-end lifecycle:Concept, development & beta versions, testing, debugging, final versions, field deployment and commercial scalingIdentify and develop next-generation offerings in:Gas Lift, Plunger Lift, ESP and other forms of lift optimizationCapillary + chemical injection integrationDownhole monitoring + analyticsTranslate technical capabilities into revenue-generating products Strategic Business & Client EngagementAct as a trusted technical advisor to existing and potential company clients (operators, majors, independents)Support technical proposalsPresent innovations at industry forums, trade shows and conferencesHelp position Flowco as a technology leader vs. traditional service provider Innovation in AI + Engineering ConvergenceLead transition from:Rule-based engineering systems → AI-assisted systems → LLM-driven reasoning platformsDevelop hybrid AI architectures combining:Physics-based modelsExpert systemsMachine learning / LLM reasoningBuild internal capabilities for AI-assisted engineering automation Qualification Requirements Experience20+ years of Artificial Lift (Gas Lift, Plunger Lift and ESP strongly preferred) and Production Engineering / Optimization.Proven track record of Technology development and deployment, software system development, creation, AI/ data-driven engineering solutions, execution and education.Technical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of:Gas lift, Plunger Lift and ESP system design, diagnostics, and optimizationNodal analysis, multiphase flow, and PVT behaviorSoftware development capability:C#, .NET, Python, SQL, data systemsAI/ML experience:RAG systemsLLM integrationEngineering automation workflows
