Medical Assistant
Job Summary: The Medical Assistant will provide support in an adult outpatient orthopedic spine and pain management clinic. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, performing office duties, and maintaining a smooth workflow within the clinic. Flexibility to float among different physicians based on clinic needs is required. Location:Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, United States Responsibilities: - Rooming patients and taking vital signs - Following up with patients via phone calls- Preparing charts and authorization forms- Handling pharmacy calls and patient refill requests- Scheduling appointments- Stocking supplies- Performing telephone triage- Limited in-office injections for steroid and pain relief Required Skills & Certifications: - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant - Experience in an adult outpatient clinic setting- Proficiency in authorization forms, chart preparation, pharmacy calls/patient refill requests, scheduling appointments, stocking supplies, and telephone triage- Ability to perform follow-up phone calls and room patients effectively- BLS certification- Must provide/bring their own stethoscope Preferred Skills & Certifications: - Experience in a private physician's office - Specialization in orthopedics and surgery- Intramuscular injection skills- Wound specimen collection skills- Experience administering medication, management/lead experience, suture removal, and wound care- ACLS and CMA certifications Special Considerations: - RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR. - Must be flexible and willing to float among different physicians based on clinic needs. Scheduling: - 40 hours per week may be offered- 8-hour day shifts, 08:00 - 17:00- No call or weekend requirements
