Wire EDM Operator/CNC Operator
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced wire-EDM operator and an experienced CNC lathe and mill person.
The EDM operator will need to be able to set up and operate the EDM machine, preferably with experience with the AccuteX brand machine.
The CNC operator will need to be able to set up and run the machines with more emphasis on the CNC lathe. Experience with the HURCO brand lathe and mill is a plus.
Blueprint reading skills and the ability to use various types of micrometers and calipers, etc. is necessary, as well.
Duties
Set up and operate Wire EDM machines, ensuring accurate cutting of complex metal parts according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications.
Program CNC machinery using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to create precise machining paths.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC and EDM equipment, including calibration, tool changes, and troubleshooting machine issues.
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment; assist with fabrication, assembly line tasks, or packaging as needed.
Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, production runs, quality checks, and maintenance logs to support continuous process improvement.
Experience
Proven experience operating Wire EDM machines with a strong understanding of electrical discharge machining principles.
Hands-on experience programming CNC machines using CAD/CAM software; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
Solid knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings for precise manufacturing.
Background in manufacturing or factory environments with exposure to machining processes such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and press brake machines.
Familiarity with tooling setup, materials handling procedures, and safety protocols within a manufacturing facility.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately; basic math skills are essential for calculations related to machining tolerances.
Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), welding techniques, or fabricating components is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude combined with factory experience in a fast-paced production environment focused on quality control and efficiency. Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team that values innovation, craftsmanship, and continuous learning!
