Operations Support Engineer
Job Summary Our Media & Entertainment client is seeking an Operations Support Engineer to join their team! This position is fully remote. A critical part of this role is serving as a technical leader and governance authority over the cloud operations partner —ensuring that the partner's engineering, operational support, onboarding, migrations, and FinOps activities meet the client's standards, align with architecture patterns, and deliver high quality outcomes for internal application teams. This position is ideal for someone who is hands on with cloud platforms, deeply familiar with modern cloud governance models, and confident in directing, guiding, and holding an external strategic partner accountable. Core ResponsibilitiesOversee Windows Domain Services, including identity integrations and directory hygieneAdminister App & Service Principal registrations and lifecycle managementDefine and maintain architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practicesSupport and enhance Azure & AWS DevOps pipelines, CI/CD tooling, and automation frameworksDevelop and maintain Terraform modules and pipeline automation for IaC deploymentsProvide engineering oversight and architectural direction for builds, pipelines, IaC modules, and environmentsTroubleshoot various connectivity, authentication, networking, or resource availability issues across cloud platformsSupport Bastion onboarding and secure-access patternsProvide Azure/AWS SDBA (Storage/Database/Backup & related infra) supportProduce cloud cost estimates, resource sizing recommendations, and optimization suggestionsLead or support Cloud Builds, infrastructure provisioning, and production cutoversContribute to Change Management for cloud infrastructure and cloud securityMaintain and enforce policies for CSP & SaaS approval flowsDrive organization wide governance to ensure consistent, secure use of cloud resourcesDefine initial ownership, RBAC assignments, and baseline configurationCapture required metadata to enable Compliance, FinOps, and Security visibilityAssist with iTAP ID creation, app registration, and access workflowsDeliver analytics, reporting, dashboards, and consumption insights across cloud servicesTrack subscription onboarding and ensure financial visibility from Day 1Monitor spend, detect anomalies, and drive remediation actionsIdentify repeating issues, drive closure of systemic cost gaps, and refine FinOps playbooksSupport Quicksight dashboards, budget creation, and forecasting cyclesEnforce cloud governance, policy adherence, and operational guardrailsMonitor deployments for policy violations, misconfigurations, and driftProvide training and hands-on education to teams to improve compliancePartner with app teams to resolve issues and bring workloads into complianceSupport compliance attestations (e.g., SOX, PCI, SPI)Provide solution architecture support to internal cloud consumersDeliver consulting services for onboarding, workload design, and modernizationMaintain a rich SharePoint knowledge base, including runbooks, patterns, and training materialsPartner with enterprise architecture and platform teams to guide cloud maturityRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) 5+ years in cloud infrastructure/operations/engineering rolesProficiency with Azure, AWS, Entra ID, DevOps pipelines, Terraform, and cloud networkingExperience directing or collaborating with large-scale managed services partnersStrong understanding of cloud governance, FinOps, and identityStrong communicator — capable of leading partners and influencing internal stakeholdersPreferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Azure or AWS Architect certificationsFinOps Practitioner certificationExperience with large-scale platform migrations (cloud or on-prem)Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI, ISO)Key Competencies & Behaviors Accountability enforcement with external partnersProactive governance and standardizationHands-on leadership and guidanceWork Environment Location: RemoteAny time zone acceptableCompensation & Benefits Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $47.00 and $67.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
