Research Scientist (R&D) – Direct HireLocation: West Chester, PA (Onsite)Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire (via Medix)Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000 + 5–8% Annual BonusShift: 1st ShiftThe OpportunityMedix is partnering with a premier leader in medical device innovation to find a "thinker-doer" for a high-impact Research Scientist role. Our client is currently the fastest-growing company in their vertical, boasting a debt-free, highly stable environment with some of the most sought-after products in the industry.This is a newly created position designed for a self-starter who wants to be more than just a "lab tech." You will work directly with the R&D Director on the development, enhancement, and redesign of cutting-edge formulations. If you are passionate about chemistry and want to see your work transition from a protocol to a market-ready product, this is the role for you.Your ImpactStudy Execution: Assist in planning and executing R&D studies, including stability studies for alternative packaging and competing product analysis.Design & Innovation: Design experiments for new product development and draft study protocols for material compatibility.Data Analysis: Utilize Excel, Statgraphics, and Minitab to analyze stability data and turn results into technical reports.Lab Leadership: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment while ensuring all documentation meets rigorous quality standards.Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations on ongoing studies to technical teams and international research partners.What You Bring to the TableEducation: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or BioengineeringExperience: 2–4 years of experience in a laboratory setting, specifically with results documentation and design control processes.Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and illustrations.Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project; experience with statistical software (Minitab/Statgraphics) is a significant plus.The "Plus" Factors: Prior experience with GLP, GMP, ISO 13485-2016, or HOCl formulations is highly preferred but not required.Why This Role?Direct Impact: As a new position in a fast-growing company, your contributions are highly visible and vital to the R&D pipeline.Stability & Growth: Join a debt-free organization that is currently leading its industry vertical.Professional Development: Receive specialized training on proprietary formulation test methods and participate in high-level technical innovation meetings.Work Environment & Physical DemandsSetting: Climate-controlled lab and office environment in West Chester, PA.Travel: Approximately 10–20% travel required.Physical: Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
