Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.About the roleThe Accountant 1 will be responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.Responsibilities30% Performs various account reconciliations to interpret and report the effects of established financial plans.25% Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.20% Develops, maintains, and analyzes data, used in management reporting.15% Establish and assigns entries to proper accounts in the General Ledger.10% Develops, implements, modifies, and documents recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.Knowledge, skills & abilities requirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting1-3 years of accountingPrevious experience in month-end close processesSarbanes Oxley compliance experience desiredProficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel)Oracle experience a plusHyperion is a plusCompetencies / AttributesExcellent analytical and communication skillsAbility to prepare and process journal entriesWorking conditions & physical requirementsThe work may require some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking; recurring bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as record boxes.
