ABOUT WÁ SALON Wá Salon is a modern, editorial-style hair salon built on exceptional artistry, technical excellence, and thoughtful client experiences. We serve clients across all hair types, textures, and backgrounds, and we are building a creative house where precision, consistency, and elevated service are the standard.We are seeking a Master Stylist / Resident Artist, a highly skilled, respected professional who sets the technical bar, shapes creative direction, and serves as a leader within the salon. This is not simply a chair position. This is a lead artist and culture-shaper role. ROLE OVERVIEW The Master Stylist/Resident Artist is the technical and creative authority at Wa Salon. You will deliver outstanding results across multiple hair types, mentor stylists, influence service standards, and help define the salon’s artistic identity.You are both a top-producing stylist and a leader.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical Excellence Deliver master-level services across multiple hair types and textures, including: Precision cuts Blowouts & styling Silk press & healthy hair services Custom installs / wigs / extensions Color and treatments (if applicable) Execute complex transformations with consistency and attention to detail Maintain strong sanitation, prep, and finishing standards Creative Leadership Establish and uphold Wa Salon’s technical benchmarks Contribute to service menu evolution and pricing recommendations Lead look development for campaigns, shoots, and brand content Develop signature techniques or services Education & Mentorship Coach junior and mid-level stylists Lead internal trainings and demonstrations Support onboarding and skill development Promote a culture of continuous improvement Client Experience Attract and retain high-value clientele Deliver thorough consultations and aftercare education Build long-term client relationships Brand Representation Serve as a visible face of Wa Salon Participate in content creation (photos, videos, tutorials) Represent the salon at events, classes, and partnerships QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years professional styling experience (preferred) Proven mastery in one or more specialty areas Strong portfolio (Instagram, website, or photo library) Experience working with diverse hair types and textures Leadership mindset with a desire to mentor Professional, polished presence Strong communication and consultation skills Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented WHAT WE OFFER Competitive commission or base + commission option Resident Artist title and brand positioning Featured placement on website and marketing Education stipend and advanced training opportunities Priority booking and high-value client routing Leadership growth path (Creative Director, Education Lead, etc.) IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE You are: Technically excellent Artistically driven Business-minded Ready to step into a leadership seat Passionate about working across diverse clients You want more than a chair.
