Cold Thread Machinist/Operator

Role Overview As a Cold Thread Operator working the second shift, your primary objective is to manage the setup, operation, and ongoing oversight of thread rolling equipment utilized to manufacture high-precision fasteners. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all output aligns with strict quality benchmarks and customer requirements, all while helping the team reach its safety, efficiency, and production targets. Key Responsibilities Configure and run cold thread rolling units to manufacture fasteners that strictly adhere to engineering designs. Analyze and comprehend technical drawings, manufacturing protocols, and quality standards. Make necessary machine tweaks to ensure thread pitch, dimensions, and overall product integrity remain consistent. Utilize precision gauges and measurement tools to perform initial, ongoing, and final quality checks. Keep a close watch on equipment operation to proactively detect potential production or quality flaws. Swap out worn dies, tooling, and other machine parts as the process demands. Identify mechanical issues and collaborate with the maintenance team to facilitate necessary repairs. Document production data and inspection results with high accuracy. Support the team in achieving hourly output goals by strictly following established production timelines. Help maintain a safe and orderly workspace by upholding 5S and general housekeeping standards. Contribute to a culture of safety by consistently following all established workplace protocols. Required Qualifications Completion of a high school diploma or GED is necessary. Prior background in a manufacturing setting or thread rolling is highly desirable. Experience with metal-forming machinery, such as thread rollers or cold headers, is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints. Proficiency in foundational mathematics and the use of measurement tools. Capacity to function effectively both as an individual contributor and as a collaborative team member. Competencies and Skills Understanding of fastener production and thread rolling methodologies. Competence in utilizing precision measurement instrumentation. Strong mechanical aptitude to help resolve complex equipment malfunctions. A sharp eye for detail and a dedication to maintaining high-quality output. Physical Demands Ability to remain on your feet and move throughout the facility for the duration of the shift. Regularly lift and move heavy materials, finished goods, and tooling.
