Welding Teacher- The Dalton AcademyClick on the link to learn more about working for Dalton Public Schoolshttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1nz5B4Gp0g9IqvpPnPo70C8tPbVnOESyI/view?usp=sharingJob Purpose:The Welding Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in welding and metal fabrication as part of the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program. The teacher will prepare students with the technical skills, safety knowledge, and industry certifications needed for careers in welding and related trades.Duties & Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with Georgia CTAE Welding Pathway standardsTeach welding techniques including SMAW, GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and cutting processesEmphasize and enforce proper shop safety procedures and OSHA guidelinesPrepare students for industry-recognized certifications (e.g., AWS certifications)Develop hands-on lab experiences that simulate real-world welding environmentsDifferentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning stylesAssess student progress through formative and summative evaluationsMaintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and competenciesManage and maintain welding equipment, tools, and lab facilitiesCollaborate with local industry partners for student opportunities (internships, apprenticeships, guest speakers)Participate in CTSO activities such as SkillsUSACommunicate effectively with students, parents, and school staffContribute to the overall function and success of the school through collaboration with faculty, participation in school initiatives, and support of a positive school cultureAdditional duties as assignedQualifications & Requirements:Valid Georgia teaching certificate in CTAE Welding and Joining Technology (or eligibility to obtain)Demonstrated experience in welding and metal fabricationKnowledge of industry safety standards and practicesAbility to manage a classroom/lab environment effectivelyStrong technical welding skills across multiple processesAbility to instruct and supervise students in a lab/shop settingPreferred Qualification:American Welding Society (AWS) certificationPrior teaching or training experienceExperience working with high school-aged studentsIndustry work experience in welding or manufacturingOpen Until Filled:Review of applications and interviews will begin immediately as applications are received and selection of a candidate may occur at any time.This position is for the 2026-2027 school year
