Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Psychiatric Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/20/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Psych RN Travel Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week (days vary by campus) Contract: 13 weeks Locations: West Burlington & Fort Madison (floating required) Role Overview: RN will support units during an Epic go-live, providing care across psychiatric, substance abuse, detox, and med/surg patient populations . Responsible for patient assessment, monitoring behavioral changes, administering treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Behavioral health monitoring & interventions Patient assessments, care planning, and documentation Support patients with mental health, detox, and medical needs Work across multiple units/campuses as needed Requirements: Psych / mental health experience preferred Cerner Epic experience required Active RN license Additional Details: Weekend & holiday rotation required Occasional call/standby (must be within 1 hour if called in) Exposure to diverse populations: psych, substance abuse, adult & geriatric Highlights: Great for nurses with mixed psych med/surg background Epic go-live experience (strong resume builder) Dynamic, multi-unit environment About Genie Healthcare Genie Healthcare is one of the fastest growing Nurse Travel Agencies in the USA.
