About the RoleJivaJet is seeking a Full‑Stack Satellite Engineer to support the GWU‑JIVAJET CubeSat Flight Demonstration, a hands‑on space mission targeting launch in November 2025.In this role, you’ll work onsite alongside the George Washington University CubeSat team, providing deep technical support across:Embedded systemsAvionics integrationSoftware/firmware developmentTestingMission readinessThis is a highly applied role ideal for engineers who thrive in end‑to‑end satellite development and enjoy mentoring in fast‑paced R&D environments.What You’ll Be DoingSatellite System IntegrationSupport full‑stack integration of avionics, ADCS, EPS, batteries, solar panels, and UHF communicationsPerform hardware bring‑up, debugging, and interface testing (UART, I2C, RS‑485)Design and integrate power systems, harnessing, and EPS componentsOversee final system integration and readiness once hardware procurement is completeBuild efficient data logging and system‑state task frameworksEmbedded Software & FirmwareDevelop command‑and‑control software for the propulsion system Power Processing Unit (PPU)Support uplink/downlink telemetry packet designTest and integrate with EnduroSat UHF transceiverContribute to STK simulations for VLEO mission scenariosLab, Test & Mission SupportSupport satellite‑level testing, checkout procedures, and vacuum chamber prepDocument integration, testing, and troubleshooting in a shared GitHub repositoryProvide post‑launch technical support, including telemetry analysis as neededRequired Qualifications (Must‑Haves)BS or MS in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering3–6 years of hands‑on CubeSat or smallsat experience (design → test → ops)Strong experience with:Embedded development (C/C++ / Python)Satellite avionics & bus systemsRF communications & ADCSHands‑on hardware debugging and real‑time systems experienceFamiliarity with tools such as STK, GMAT, LabVIEW, Altium, or OBC SDKs (Pumpkin, GomSpace, Tyvak)Experience with UART and I2C driversFamiliarity with ITAR and space qualification standards (NASA GEVS, MIL‑STD‑1540/1541, ECSS)Nice‑to‑Have / Bonus ExperienceExperience with VLEO missions, drag modeling, or orbital maintenanceEnduroSat communications systems experienceGNU Radio (ground station exposure)Plasma propulsion or high‑temperature systems exposurePrior work with DARPA, AFRL, NASA, or commercial flight demonstrationsBackground in both R&D labs and startup environmentsBenefitsCompetitive contract compensation401(k) + matchingHealth, dental, vision insurancePaid time offParental leaveTuition reimbursement & professional development supportRelocation assistance (if applicable)Employee assistance programAdditional Job Application TermsThis job is part of LinkedIn’s Full-Service Hiring beta program.
