Facilities Maintenance Utility PersonPosition SummaryPerforms skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, repair, and general labor duties to ensure company-owned properties, facilities, and grounds are maintained in safe, functional, and efficient operating condition.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform general maintenance and repair of company-owned office buildings, treatment plants, well enclosures, storage tanks, and related facilities.Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on roads, driveways, fencing, and site infrastructure.Operate snow removal and ice control equipment, including snowplows and salt spreaders.Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, and wood chippers.Perform routine preventive maintenance on tools, vehicles, and equipment.Complete pre-storm preparation activities and post-storm damage assessment and cleanup.Assist skilled trades personnel (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with repair and construction projects.Operate earthmoving and heavy equipment, including dozers, loaders, and excavators, as assigned.Participate in the Company's Emergency Response Plan and respond to emergency situations as required.Maintain compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Valid driver's license with clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards.Ability to pass DOT physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background checkAbility to successfully complete a respirator medical evaluation and wear respiratory protective equipment as required.Demonstrated experience in grounds maintenance required.Preferred QualificationsValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Experience in construction, building maintenance, or related field.Experience operating construction and maintenance equipment strongly.Working knowledge of basic mechanical systems and maintenance practices.Ability to operate a variety of maintenance, construction, and groundskeeping equipment safely and effectively.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and learn maintenance procedures, processes, and methods.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Availability to work overtime, weekends, and during emergency response situations as needed.Physical RequirementsRequires the ability to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and work around vehicles and equipmentAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Ability to work in varying weather and environmental conditionsWork EnvironmentJob requires exposure to outside environmental conditionsExposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, and gases.As conditions require, ability to wear respiratory protective equipment including a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for extended periods.
