Job Title:Operations ManagerEl Pinto FoodsAlbuquerque, NM 87114Salary: negotiablehttps://www.elpinto.com/careers/ Department:Salsa FactoryReports to:Plant DirectorBack up:Facility Maintenance ManagerJob DescriptionManage factory resources, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and monitoring plant operations for safety, quality and efficient performance. Requires close communication and coordination with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Warehousing, Engineering, Production, Food Safety, Accounting and Human Resources. Drives Continuous Improvement by providing training, tools, data and leadership to the Operations team. Work closely with other Operations Support departments on continuous improvement projects to improve line efficiencies, reduce waste and lower production cost. Also responsible for support and direction of team members; Leads, motivates, and trains employees to achieve production results, improve individual skills, and enhance teamwork.Primary ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring employee safe work environment, safe work behaviors, safe work conditions, employee responsibilities and takes disciplinary action, including employee suspension and job terminationEnsures facility grounds securityEnsure implementation and enforcement of GMP’s, housekeeping and floor organization. Provides training resources to other management team members and employees as neededDevelops and implements new methods, procedures, and systems to improve people performance and overall quality of work life and moraleLead quality/continuous improvement initiatives in support of Operations. Take leadership role training and implementing Continuous Improvement efforts within the teamImplement tools such as waste reduction, lean manufacturing, best practices, and SOP’sLead 5S implementation to establish as a sustained cultureSupports, complies and assures compliance with all company policies, directives, and proceduresProvide leadership, guidance and training to employees by developing and implementing plans to improve abilitiesManaging site purchasing and inventory control processesEnsuring that all financial goals are metDeveloping and managing annual O&M budget and cost-saving measuresDevelop and control profits, plans, and budget. Implement systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, freight, repair expenses, manpower, wages and salariesEstablish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standardsDevelopment of all production supervisors to understand and utilize the Production Data Collection System to improve production throughput and product yieldsEnsure daily production schedule is executed efficiently to meet Customer Service deadlinesMust report food safety issues to Food Safety Administrator. Initiate corrective actions when necessaryJob Requirements7+ year's progressive manufacturing experience with strong leadership qualities, proven history of delivering sustainable resultsBachelor’s degree in a technical field or business management is highly preferred. Experience may be substituted for educationKnowledge of Food Plant GMP’s, SOP’sMust have effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills•Thorough understanding of the operation and maintenance of plant equipment, including the importance of ensuring high availability, reliability and efficiency•Broad knowledge of plant processes and related equipment•Ability to understand and administer complex commercial agreements related to production and the provision of reliable services•Ability to develop and manage operating & maintenance budgets•Must be competent in the areas of leadership, team building, coaching, manufacturing operations, planning, communication, decision making, problem solving/analysis, financial management, business acumen and MS Office products•Need to understand and pass along to the team the Financial Goals, Cost Key Drivers and develop opportunities to reduce production costs•Experience meeting company KPI's and reporting P&LSkills•Analyze data, write reports and use critical thinking skills to solve problems quickly and provide solutions•Motivate and enhance skills of line workers and supervisors by training in multiple aspects of production•Excellent Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
