Job Title: Business Teacher (Grades 5-8)Location: Cheektowaga Central Middle SchoolDistrict: Cheektowaga Central School DistrictReports To: Building PrincipalPosition SummaryThe Business Teacher for grades 5-8 is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in foundational business concepts, financial literacy, and career readiness. The position emphasizes real-world applications, digital skills, and preparing students with practical knowledge for future academic and career success.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver standards-based instruction in business, financial literacy, and career explorationTeach topics such as budgeting, saving, entrepreneurship, marketing, digital citizenship, and basic economicsIntegrate technology tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, digital platforms) into instructionPromote problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skillsDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language LearnersAssess student progress through projects, presentations, and formative assessmentsCreate a positive, organized, and engaging classroom environmentCollaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary and career-readiness initiativesCommunicate effectively with students, parents, and staffParticipate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school committees QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Education, Education, or related field (Master's preferred)Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Business and Marketing Education (or appropriate certification)Strong understanding of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and business conceptsExperience integrating technology into instruction Preferred QualificationsExperience teaching middle school students (grades 5-8)Familiarity with career and technical education (CTE) frameworksExperience with project-based learning and real-world simulationsKnowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices Working ConditionsClassroom setting within a middle schoolRegular use of technology and instructional tools Performance ExpectationsFoster a positive and inclusive learning environmentSupport student growth in practical life and career skillsMaintain accurate records and meet all district deadlinesAdhere to district policies and professional standards
