Cardiac Sonographer - SIGN ON BONUS OFFERED

The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for providing ultrasound diagnostic tests for patients.Job Relationships* Reports to the Operations ManagerPrincipal Responsibilities* Perform echocardiograms as directed by physicians.* Explain procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results.* Position patients. Select appropriate transducer.* Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment. Move scanner over specified area and adjust equipment to focus.* Make hard copy of images. Document tests.* Develop reports and assemble materials for cardiologists.* Maintain ultrasound equipment. Order and stock all ultrasound supplies.* Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.* Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.* Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.* Perform other job duties as assigned.Education/Experience* Completion of course in ultrasonic technology.Licenses/Certificates* CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.* Must be registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International and/or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographers.* Credentialed with echocardiography certification.Working Environment* Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.* Must be able to assist patients to and from ultrasound table.
