Medical Receptionists must be able to follow standardized workflows consistently to verify and capture all data needed to record every visit and communicate clearly with others. Excellent customer service skills are required to appropriately address any scenario encountered.Position ResponsibilitiesStandard Work Duties: LRHPG Patient Access RepresentativeKindly acknowledge all visitors promptly using a professional tone to initiate contact as they approach.Follow set guidelines for verifying identity, correctly capturing, recording, and updating all required data for every visitor.Verify insurance eligibility, collect all payments all payment due, and issuing receipts before allowing patients to navigate towards provider back offices.Responsibly handling a cash drawer daily for all financial transactions, balancing cash at the end of each shift, and following set protocol for the safekeeping.Promptly answering incoming phone calls, carefully listening to the caller's needs and being courteous when responding, and making warm transfers to other departments within the organization.Adhere to all guidelines set for protecting patient privacy and any confidential information gatheredStewardshipDemonstrates responsible use of LRH's resources including people, finances, equipment and facilities.Knows and adheres to organizational and department policies and procedures.Competencies & SkillsEssential:Ability to count money, issue correct change, process credit transactions, balance daily deposits at end of each day.Clinical practices, policies, and procedures.Using office equipment which may include scanners, copiers, and phones.Excellent Customer service skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:High School or EquivalentNonessential:Associate DegreeNonessential:Healthcare AdministrationOther information:Certifications Essential: Medical billing and coding certificationCertifications Preferred: Advanced medical billing and coding certification
