JOBSEARCHER

Senior Software Engineer

I'm hiring for a large information and technology company in Manhattan, on the teams building their AI research and search products.Hybrid, 3 days a week onsite. They're not looking for four versions of the same person. They're looking for four specific types. The one who cares what the user actually seesYou think in pixels and page loads. Rails on the back, Vue on the front, on a product millions of professionals open before their first coffee. You'd own a security overhaul of the whole front-end stack. 3+ years Rails, 3+ years front end.The one who keeps the lights on for everybody elseEvery AI team at this company ships on top of your platform. Python, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and an LLM gateway that routes across OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and Bedrock. You design for the failure, not the happy path. 6+ years. The one building the tools the tool builders useEnd-Users and engineers sit down together in your product and write the prompts that power everything downstream. TypeScript and Vue in front, Python behind it. You'd build the catalogs and registries for prompts, agents, skills, and MCP tools. 4+ years. The one who untangles the hard thingA large Java search codebase, years of accumulated weight, being pulled apart into services that teams can own and deploy on their own. That work unlocks agentic search for the entire platform. 5+ years Java and real distributed systems chops. What all four share: distributed systems running across public cloud and on-prem data centers, and enough scale that the boring problems get interesting.
