Tractor Operator - Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point (MOTSU) EMI Services is hiring a Tractor/Bush Hog Operator responsible for driving agricultural or heavy-duty tractors equipped with rotary cutters. The core objective is to clear and maintain overgrown vegetation, brush, weeds, and small trees on fields, roadsides, and utility easements.Salary $23.41 /hr.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation: Safely drive tractors while maneuvering heavy-duty rotary cutters (bush hogs) through uneven terrain, narrow spaces, and around obstaclesVegetation Management: Cut and clear dense brush, tall grass, and light saplings to restore land usability or reduce fire hazardsSite Preparation: Scout the path before mowing to remove hazardous debris, large rocks, wire, and stumps that could damage the machinery or result in unsafe operation conditionsEquipment Maintenance: Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, including greasing, checking fluid levels and visual inspection of both tractor and bushhog componentsDaily time management: Working with the lead tractor operator while keeping accurate schedule, time sheet and work order documentation. Safety Adherence: Follow strict safety protocols while adhering to a cutting schedule outlined by the lead tractor operator. Additional: Additional offseason or special event job requirements may include but are not limited to: clearing berms of vegetation, food plot planting, tree/limb cutting, small grounds mowing/maintenance, assisting with mechanical repairs and assisting technicians with miscellaneous tasksEssential SkillsMechanical Aptitude: Basic ability to perform routine tractor and mower maintenance, adjust cutting heights, and replace or sharpen bladesClick here to Follow EMI Services on Facebook RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent1 to 3 years of experience operating heavy farm machinery or industrial tractorsConsistent attendance and punctuality Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain onePass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkU.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installationsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50lbs unassistedAble to sit for extended periods while handling vibrating, bouncing equipment in varying weather conditions (heat, rain, dust)Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
