Job Title: Controls Engineer – Manufacturing Automation (Contract to Hire)Client: TeslaLocation: Onsite – Fremont, California or Reno, Nevada (travel between sites required)Duration: 4–6 Months (Contract to Hire)Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to support manufacturing automation initiatives, with a strong focus on equipment commissioning and production line readiness. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in PLC programming, system debugging, and bringing automated equipment online in a fast-paced production environment.This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, system reliability, and production efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesCommission and debug automated manufacturing equipment and production linesDevelop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using Siemens or Rockwell platformsDiagnose and resolve issues related to electrical systems, sensors, actuators, and I/OSupport integration and commissioning of robotic systems and vision systemsWork closely with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to meet project deadlinesPerform system validation, testing, and performance tuningDocument changes, issues, and solutions during commissioning phasesProvide on-site support and training to production and maintenance teamsRequired QualificationsHands-on experience with PLC programming and commissioningProficiency in Siemens (TIA Portal) or Rockwell (Studio 5000)Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in a manufacturing environmentBackground in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)Ability to work onsite and travel between Fremont and Reno as neededStrong communication and teamwork skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with robot programming (e.g., Fanuc)Experience with vision systems (e.g., Keyence 2D/3D)Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing environmentsPrevious experience in automotive or automation industries
