Weekend leadership starts here.Sign-on bonus - $5,000*Martha Jefferson HousePosition Type: Weekend (Saturday & Sunday)Reports To: Director of NursingPosition Summary:The Weekend Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, ensuring quality resident care, and maintaining regulatory compliance during weekend hours. This role provides leadership and support to nursing staff, addresses real-time concerns, and ensures smooth daily operations in the absence of weekday leadership.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Oversight & Resident Care:Perform initial rounds at the start of each shift to assess residents' and staff's needsEnsure resident care plans are being followed, including restorative programsMonitor for changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate interventions are initiatedVerify that all incidents have appropriate follow-up, including documentation and assessmentsEnsure interventions are added to the care plan/ISP as neededDocumentation & Chart Review:Run and review 24-hour report (or 72-hour report if applicable) in PointClickCareReview recent physician orders and ensure implementationAudit MAR/TAR completion and documentation accuracyComplete chart checks for new admissions for completeness and accuracyReview hospice documentation and ensure coordination of careMonitor for overdue or upcoming assessments and ensure completionFollow up on medication refusals, medication not available issues, and missing documentationIncident Management & Follow-Up:Review incidents from prior shifts and ensure proper documentation and follow-upConfirm ongoing monitoring (up to 72 hours as indicated)Ensure all required assessments are completed in a timely mannerCommunicate significant findings to on-call leadership as neededQuality Assurance & Compliance:Monitor clinical dashboard/alerts and address or escalate concernsEnsure compliance with facility policies and state regulationsPerform routine audits (MAR/TAR, documentation, care plans)Ensure nursing stations are organized and compliantStaff Supervision & Support:Provide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staffAddress call-offs and coordinate staffing coverageHandle real-time staffing concerns and team conflictsAssist on the floor as needed to support safe operationsProvide real-time education and coachingResident & Family Support:Address and resolve family concerns professionally and promptlyProvide updates to families as appropriateEnsure resident dignity and satisfaction are prioritizedDining & Daily Operations Oversight:Oversee meal service to ensure proper diets and timely assistanceEnsure staff assist residents appropriately with mealsMonitor for nutritional concerns and communicate issuesAdmissions, Discharges, and Transitions:Assist with or oversee admissions and dischargesEnsure proper documentation and care planning for new admissionsSupport smooth transitions of careCommunication & Coordination:Communicate key updates to leadership for follow-upEnsure continuity of care through documentationServe as primary clinical leader on weekendsExpectations:Maintain visibility on units and be available to staffAssist on the floor when neededManage clinical and operational issues in real timeEnsure proper handoff to weekday leadershipQualifications:Active LPN or RN license in VirginiaSupervisory or charge nurse experience preferredLong-term care or assisted living experience preferredExperience with PointClickCare preferredJoin a team where your work truly matters.
