Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250 Location: Frederick, MD 21701 (Frederick Health Hospital) — Frederick, Maryland travel nursing job Employment Type: Travel Contract (travel nursing) Unit: LDRP, Family Center (Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Antepartum, Postpartum) Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:00), 4 shifts per week Hours per Week: 48 Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 22, 2026 – July 22, 2026) Patient Ratio: 3:1 Weekend Coverage: Required (rotating holidays and weekends) Job Requirements (Qualifications) Minimum 3 years of current and strong LDRP / Labor & Delivery RN acute care experience Travel nursing experience required Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license (required at time of submission) BLS certification (required) C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification (required at time of submission) NRP certification preferred Antepartum and EFM experience preferred; antepartum/postpartum cross-training expected Previous charge experience preferred COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Responsibilities (L&D / Maternity Nurse) Provide comprehensive maternal-newborn care across Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units Perform and assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk antepartum care Utilize internal and external fetal monitoring (EFM/C-EFM) and interpret fetal tracings Support mother/baby couplet care and newborn nursery procedures Administer pain management, perform episiotomy/incisional care, and manage postpartum hemorrhage Educate parents with discharge teaching, breastfeeding/lactation support, and newborn care instruction Assist with procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, tubal ligation, and circumcision care Maintain accurate charting and clinical documentation using facility standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE protocols, and vaccine administration policies Why Join This Travel Nursing Opportunity Hands-on L&D experience in a full-spectrum family center (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum, Antepartum) Competitive weekly pay for travel nurses Work close to major metro areas—about 1 hour to Baltimore or Washington, D.C.
