Daylight Prep Cook $15/Hour

J.W. Hall's Steak & Seafood Inn was founded in 1981, and since then has continued to serve customers quality food including our prime rib, lobster kettle, salad bar, and specialty desserts. We are located in the Hopewell Shopping Plaza. Many members of our staff have worked at Hall's for years, even decades. We foster a family culture for our employees and have a team work environment. The schedule for this role is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 am - 4 pm. Some days you may finish up a bit early if all work is done. Responsibilities: Wash, Cut, and prep food items for our salad bar, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc. Learn and follow recipes for cold salad bar items - coleslaw, salad dressings, broccoli salad, pickled beets, etc. Ability to safely use a large slicer to slice produce, mainly cabbage for coleslaw, along with other salad bar vegetables Chopping ice berg lettuce and romaine lettuce for salad bar lettuce mix Preparation of side dishes to ensure they are ready for the cook's line - sweet potato casserole, potatoes au gratin Preparation of other food items including learning recipes, following recipes, washing, cutting, chopping, etc. At times, using the Dishwasher including loading, spraying, running, unloading, and putting away dishes, food storage containers, silverware, etc. Maintain a clean, well-organized work station Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion Must be able to work full shift standing up, frequent walking, frequent light lifting, frequent reaching Communication Skills Must be reliable Must have transportation to and from (we are not on a bus line) Must be able to work quickly and efficiently Prior food preparation experience strongly preferred Knife skills strongly preferred ServSafe certification a plus Equal Opportunity Employer Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $15.00 per hour Application Question(s): Do you have reliable transportation to and from our location in the Hopewell Shopping Center?
