Job Description Job Summary: The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for ensuring the sterilization and decontamination of medical instruments to support safe patient care. They work independently to maintain department functionality by disinfecting, assembling, and distributing supplies and equipment. Responsibilities: Perform standardized instrument processing and decontamination procedures to prevent infection spread. Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization cycles for proper function. Distribute sterilized supplies and instruments to appropriate departments. Maintain equipment, perform testing, and ensure proper functioning and safety standards. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure safety and privacy. Support department operations by exercising sound judgment and prioritizing tasks during busy shifts. Qualifications: Possess valid CRCST or CSPDT certification. Hold BLS certification. Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field. Demonstrate competency in sterilization, decontamination, and instrument handling. Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail. Maintain active CA State License and applicable certifications with current expiration dates.
