Reliability and Maintenance (RAM) Engineer
The Reliability Engineer aim to avoid failures in production systems. They compare pieces of equipment, individual mechanical components and manufacturing processes to determine which combination of parts creates the most reliable and fail-safe system.
Minimum Qualifications:
10 years’ experience
Must hold an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE
Relevant experience with manufacturing equipment is an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to adapt and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or similar Engineering Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to remain flexible in the face of changing customer and organizational priorities.
Ability to meet long-lead and/or tight deliverable deadlines.
Ability to calculate Inherent Availability (Ai) to ensure system(s) meet required Performance Specifications and recommend courses of action if requirements are not met.
Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-2155 and/or GEIA-STD-0009 standards a plus.
Responsibilities:
Develops a reliability and maintenance program to achieve reliability objectives and support proposed changes in design.
Establish a closed loop Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) using MIL-HDBK-2155 or GEIA-STD-0009 Reliability Program Standard
Collect data for the preparation and completion of Failure Summary Reports (FSR) and Failure, Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Actions System (FRACAS) Reports.
Calculate Inherent Availability (Ai) at the system level.
If systems are not meeting Ai requirements, provide recommended Courses of Actions (COA) to achieve this objective.
Provide information and technical assistance to Government efforts to model the operational availability (Ao)
Support the development of different logistical documents related to satellite communication systems including LORAs Technical Manuals and Logistics Demonstration Plans/Reports.
Analyzes engineering-design concepts to recommend design or test methods for attaining or improving specified operational reliability, using knowledge of reliability engineering and other technologies.
Analyze downtime, quality, safety, and financial data to identify areas of focus for the maintenance and operations teams.
Conduct and coordinate failure investigations, including analyzing failure mechanisms and implementing solutions to improve reliability, quality, safety, and financial performance.
Direct oversight of the preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance).
Recommends and implements procedures that creates a maintenance culture driven by life cycling strategies and is proactive/predictive in nature.
Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
As needed, work with satellite terminal OEMs to ensure preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) are performed in accordance with operational requirements.
Provide test data to validate, support, and implement corrective improvement plans using root cause analysis to identify issues with equipment and employ solutions to reduce downtime.
Provide support to establish adequate spare parts and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

This is a full time, exempt position.

Must be a U.S citizen with the ability to possess a valid US DoD security clearance.
