Plus Benefits and Equity, commensurate with experienceLocation: Denver, CO HybridCompany Description: Our Client is an industrial-scale data center construction and operations company. They allocate data center opportunities between bitcoin mining and other high performance computing services, such as AI. They continue to develop there pipeline of power capacity at high-quality data center sites, either for bitcoin mining or HPC.We are seeking a Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead and coordinate all electrical design disciplines and decisions across a portfolio of fast-track hyperscale data center projects .This role is deeply embedded in project execution , responsible for reviewing detailed electrical designs, resolving complex technical issues, coordinating with contractors and utilities, and participating directly in project, vendor, and customer discussions.Given the mission-critical nature of electrical systems in data centers, the ideal candidate has significant experience in both the design and operation of data centers , with a strong understanding of how design decisions impact construction, commissioning, reliability, and long-term operations.While this role will not initially stamp drawing sets , a Professional Engineering (PE) license is strongly preferred should responsibilities expand in the future.Core Responsibilities:Electrical Design Leadership & CoordinationLead all electrical engineering efforts across projects, including:Utility interconnections and substationsMedium- and low-voltage power distributionTransformers, switchgear, and protection schemesBackup power systems (generators, UPS where applicable)Grounding, bonding, and life safety interfacesCoordinate electrical design across:ConceptSchematicDetailed design phasesEnsure alignment between electrical, mechanical, CSA, and technology systemsDrawing Review & Technical OversightPerform detailed reviews of:Electrical drawings, specifications, and calculationsOne-lines, load studies, and protection coordinationIdentify and resolve:Design gapsConstructability issuesInterface risksEnsure designs reflect:Operational realitiesCommissioning and maintenance needsContractor, Utility & Vendor EngagementParticipate in:Design coordination meetingsContractor constructability reviewsUtility and AHJ discussionsVendor technical reviewsSupport field teams by:Responding to RFIsReviewing submittalsSupporting energization and commissioning effortsServe as a trusted technical interface with:UtilitiesElectrical contractorsOEMsExternal Consultant & EOR ManagementManage electrical Engineers of Record and specialty consultantsReview and approve deliverables for quality, completeness, and alignment with standardsEnsure external teams meet schedule and performance expectationsStandards, Reliability & Continuous ImprovementSupport development and refinement of:Electrical design standardsReference architecturesRedundancy and reliability philosophiesIncorporate lessons learned from:ConstructionCommissioningOperationsBalance standardization with site-specific and utility-driven requirementsWhat Success Looks LikeElectrical designs are robust, buildable, and scalableFewer electrical RFIs, changes, and field conflictsSmooth utility coordination and energizationCommissioning proceeds without major reworkElectrical standards improve delivery speed and reliabilityRequired Experience & Qualifications12–18+ years of experience in:Electrical engineeringMission-critical or industrial power systemsSignificant experience with:Data center design and operationsHigh-density power environmentsProven ability to review and coordinate:Complex electrical systems and drawingsStrong understanding of:Power distributionProtection and controlsCodes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.)Ability to operate in fast-paced, lean environmentsStrongly Preferred / DifferentiatorsProfessional Engineering (PE) license (strongly preferred)Direct experience with:HPC, AI/ML, or crypto data centersExperience supporting:Utility interconnections and substationsExposure to:Commissioning and operational turnoverComfort interfacing directly with utilities, contractors, and customersEducation & Certifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and Professional Engineering (PE) license is strongly preferred.Benefits:401KMedical / Dental / VisionEqual Opportunity Employer:RCM is an equal opportunity employer.
