Built to last.Backbone Compensation and Benefits to Look Forward to:Hourly Pay Range: $25 - $35Sign-On Bonus of up to $3,000 (Applicable for our first 3 hires, applicable to direct applicants only)Four-day work week from 6:45am to ~5:00pm with potential overtime opportunities weather/workload permitting.Comprehensive benefits package with 401k employer match, health and dental insurance, and more!Paid Time Off to help you recharge and maintain work-life balance.Help connect communities to high-speed technology with innovative fiber optic solutions.Be part of a team that values collaboration, transparency, and precision on every project.Work for a company that's deeply invested in the communities it serves, fostering meaningful relationships and sustainable practices.Grow with a company committed to supporting your professional development and celebrating your contributions.What you will do:Operational ExecutionDocumentationTroubleshooting and LearningAttendanceAssist with Other Duties as AssignedLead Installer Job Requirements:Cable Placement BasicsAble to properly set up and install cables in a variety of settings and conditions.Experienced in at least one or more methods of installing, such as hydraulic pulling, air assisted blowing, or aerial.Able to properly communicate with other team members to ensure the installation process is followed in sync.Able to calculate footages to ensure cable is placed according to construction plans.Able to drive with trailers, CDL not required.Able to store cable slack in a manner that prevents fault points.Able to proof path in a variety of different scenarios.Underground Cable Placement Advanced SkillsAble to install multiple cables in one conduit at a time.Able to install cables through occupied conduit (override).Able to properly set up and bypass vaults during all methods of installation along with coordination of other team members during this process.Able to properly tie on and secure tracer wire, mule tape, or jet line as needed.Able to install cable through innerduct or EMT.Underground Cable Placement TroubleshootingAble to diagnose issues and find solutions as they arise during cable installation.Able to use rodders, compressors or other tools to troubleshoot issues.Able to communicate issues and solutions to Foreman.Aerial Cable PlacementAble to operate a bucket truck and climb poles using gaffs.Able to set anchors and down guys.Able to raise and lower lines on poles as needed.Able to install strand and lash single or multiple cables.Able to store cable slack using brackets or snowshoes.Familiar with different aerial cable placement methods. (Figure 8 cable, strand and lash, ADSS, and drop cable)Communication with CustomersCommunicate clearly and professionally to provide regular status updates on project timelines, changes or issues.Document and share relevant customer communication in Monday.com or Microsoft Outlook.Know when to escalate customer questions or concerns to a Foreman or Project Manager.Maintain a professional appearance and respectful demeanor on all job sites.Confirm that work is completed to the customer's satisfaction before leaving the site.Communication with Team MembersCommunicate clearly and calmly under pressure or when troubleshooting field issues.Be approachable and supportive to train or guide apprentice technicians on-site.Ensure all team members are aligned with job specs, safety protocols, and deadlines.Report progress, issues, and safety concerns to Foreman or Project Managers.EEO:Backbone Fiber is an equal employment opportunity employer.
