Our mission is to honor God and serve clients through “Investing that makes the World Rejoice®.”About the RoleThe Associate Counsel will coordinate with Eventide’s General Counsel to provide strategic legal advice and guidance to internal business partners, helping to ensure alignment across Eventide’s policies, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and systems tools to improve efficiency, reporting, and consistent risk management.Draft, review, negotiate, and manage diverse commercial contracts, including vendor services, licensing agreements, systems and SaaS agreements, media content, market data, professional services and consulting agreements, IT/cloud services, and confidentiality and data-sharing agreements, among others.Advise on cyber-, privacy- and technology-related contract provisions consistent with current and evolving regulations.Advise and report to Eventide’s governance committees and senior management.Advise key business partners regarding contract disputes and legal issues.Maintain a legal map of evolving laws, regulations, and industry best practices relevant to Eventide’s vendor services, commercial agreements, and legal risks.Use systems tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), to maintain a contract calendar to ensure the efficient tracking, review, and renegotiation of legal agreements.Provide general legal guidance to support projects across the firm as needed.QualificationsJuris Doctor degree (JD) from an accredited law school, admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and bar membership(s) in good standing.3+ years of hands-on legal experience focusing on commercial contract law, preferably within a financial services firm (e.g., legal or risk department of an SEC registrant) or at a law firm or consulting firm servicing SEC-registered entities.Deep understanding of contract law principles and regulatory frameworks, with demonstrated experience negotiating technology, SaaS, and commercial agreements.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of contracts across multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Experience with contract management systems, preferably with AI functionality.Passion for and commitment to Eventide’s mission and investment philosophy; experience in values-based investments or organizations preferred.Demonstrate the core values of Eventide in execution of duties and decision making.Ability to work within compliance of Eventide’s Code of Ethics.Department: LegalFLSA Status: ExemptPosition reports to: General CounselPosition supervises: No oneThe pay range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000 annually. This range represents the base salary that Eventide reasonably expects to pay for this role, depending on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus opportunity of 30% and other forms of compensation and benefits.
