POSITION SUMMARY:Plan and implement procedures and policies for the Maintenance Department to ensure that all equipment and facilities are in an acceptable state of repair. Always improving. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise the maintenance function at Alsum Farms and ProduceMaintain equipment in its original stateAbility to prioritize what needs to be addressed and communicate to team to solve maintenance concerns as they ariseCoordinate priority and activity with production, coordinate with production to know when lines are available to work on and prioritizing fixes for pieces of equipment being down/slowSchedule and ensure the proper preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance activities are completed in the following areas: all production related equipment, buildings and grounds, properties owned by Alsum CompaniesCreate, manage, and execute the maintenance budget, accountable for all spend within the departmentSupervise and coordinate all maintenance related outside contractor activities, determine what should be done in house versus outsourcedPartner with engineering to plan and implement equipment and facilities improvement projects Manage an accurate inventory of all parts and supplies monthly and annuallyResponsible for the engineering and selection of new and used equipment and the sale of obsolete equipment in partnership with the CPEOManage the required amount of labor required to complete the position summaryDevelop work schedule for all maintenance activitiesDevelop, train, and motivate maintenance team to acquire maximum efficiency, productivity, and cooperationEnsure all legally required health and safety protocols, procedures and mandates are followedApprove vacations and overtime and document disciplinary actionsAttend meetings that pertain to maintenance and that promote team buildingPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Associates degree or similar on-the-job training program plus ten years of manufacturing experience and fiveyears in a supervisory roleProficient knowledge/skills in automated production equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, wiring, failure analysis,troubleshooting, machine repairs, and shop and tool useAbility to read mechanical drawings and blueprints\Basic math skillsExperience with ERP, CMMS/EAM, CAD software, and Microsoft SuiteAbility to comprehend and follow directions and to communicate and keep daily records REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Excellent interpersonal, analytical, management, and supervisory skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to comprehend and follow directions and to communicate and keep daily recordsGeneral housekeeping and organizational skillsSelf-motivated and able to function as part of a teamAbility to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software as both a user and at a supervisor levelValid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle recordPHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbingClose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The abilityto sit/stand in one place for extended periodsVarious repetitive movements.
