Reports to: Head of Strategy & Operations, Specialty Job Description:The Associate Director of Strategy & Operations for the U.S. Specialty franchise plays a critical role in ensuring the organization is aligned, prepared, and operationally disciplined for the Specialty Franchise. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Operations for Specialty, this role will partner closely with cross-functional leaders across Commercial, Medical, Access, and Commercial Operations to support strategic planning, meeting preparation, and operating rhythm execution.This position is designed to be the strategic operator and integrator for the Specialty business, driving day-to-day coordination, synthesizing cross-functional inputs, preparing high-quality executive materials, and ensuring timely execution of deliverables. supporting harmonized operational processes across the MS and Lupus portfolios.This is a high-visibility role requiring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment.What You'll Do:Strategic & Operating Rhythm SupportPartner with the Head of Strategy & Ops to run the U.S. Specialty operating model, including standing leadership forums, launch readiness meetings, and governance reviewsLead meeting preparation: develop agendas, synthesize updates, draft executive-ready pre-reads, and coordinate follow-ups and action trackingEnsure clear alignment and timely execution across Commercial, Medical, Access, Commercial Operations, and AnalyticsLaunch Readiness ExecutionCoordinate cross-functional launch readiness deliverables, timelines, and dependencies across MS Profile.Maintain and manage trackers, GTM launch plans, and milestone dashboardsSupport risks/mitigations, scenario planning, and operational issue escalationLiaise with data/insights partners to consolidate inputs into concise narratives for leadershipBudget, Resourcing & Operational TrackingSupport operational budget tracking and coordination of Lupus-related investment planningTrack deliverables, performance indicators, and operational progress needed for executive reviewsSpecialty SupportSupport MS and Lupus strategic ops harmonization through standardized templates, reporting processes, and operating rhythmsAssist with MS meeting preparation (LT meetings, annual planning, etc.) as needed, ensuring consistency in quality and structureContribute to cross-portfolio planning activities and operational improvements across the Specialty franchisesQualifications:7 years of experience in biotech/pharma, consulting, or relevant strategic operations rolesStrong planning, project management, and cross-functional coordination capabilitiesExceptional written communication skills, with ability to produce boardroom-ready materials (decision-oriented pre-reads, executive summaries, and complex cross-functional syntheses)Negotiation and influence skills, with the ability to drive alignment among cross-functional stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and secure commitments without formal authorityAbility to synthesize complex inputs into clear, actionable storylinesExperience preparing materials for senior leadership forumsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsBachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferredExperience in immunology or launch preparation a plusJob Level: ManagementAdditional InformationThe base compensation range for this role is: $161,000.00-$222,000.00Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.In addition to compensation, Biogen offers a full and highly competitive range of benefits designed to support our employees' and their families physical, financial, emotional, and social well-being; including, but not limited to:Medical, Dental, Vision, & Life insurancesFitness & Wellness programs including a fitness reimbursementShort- and Long-Term Disability insuranceA minimum of 15 days of paid vacation and an additional end-of-year shutdown time off (Dec 26-Dec 31)Up to 12 company paid holidays + 3 paid days off for Personal Significance80 hours of sick time per calendar yearPaid Maternity and Parental Leave benefit401(k) program participation with company matched contributionsEmployee stock purchase planTuition reimbursement of up to $10,000 per calendar yearEmployee Resource Groups participationWhy Biogen?We are a global team with a commitment to excellence, and a pioneering spirit.
