Plans, implements and evaluates all aspects of marketing, sales, promotions, advertising and positioning to achieve and exceed revenue, attendance and customer services goals. Serves as Division liaison with the media. Collaborates with the community and various governmental agencies.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Public Administration, Political Science, or other closely related field, plus four (4) years of related experience, of which one (1) year must have been supervisory capacity; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.Essential FunctionsConceptualizes and implements comprehensive communication plans and programs. Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.Designs & implements strategic marketing campaigns and brand building plans. Conducts market research and data analysis to provide reports as required.Develops and maintains strategic partnerships for event and show promotions, sponsorships, and creative advertising opportunities in collaboration with co-promoters and other partners.Advises staff on sensitive political issues and effective communication. Facilitates short- and long-term planning and helps ensure successful implementation.Serves as the designated contact for media inquiries relating to emergency operations, special events, or programs. Provides direct responses, press releases, and special reports.Collaborates with the community and various governmental agencies to achieve cooperation and leadership for projects that advance goals and objectives of the division.Supervises staff, which includes hiring, orienting, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline.Trains staff on effective public relations and media strategies. Advises staff on how to effectively build rapport with communities and theCoordinates the implementation of marketing and promotional efforts. Directs the editorial content and format of internal and external publications.Designs and conducts surveys and public opinion research.Oversees press releases, and media inquiries for special events, or programs.Establishes and monitors annual marketing and sales budget with direction from senior management.Manages and oversees the creation and updates of websites and social media efforts.
