Director of Education
The Director of Education reports directly to the Campus Director and the Dean of Education and Career Services. The Director of Education manages campus academic programs on a practical day-to-day and strategic long-term basis. All aspects of academic programs’ operation and success fall under the Director of Education’s responsibilities, including oversight of instruction, retention, student outcomes, faculty, academic use of technology and facilities, student advising, the Learning Resource Center, and student satisfaction, as well as effective implementation of the Student-Centered Active Education model in all courses.Director Of Education Duties And AccountabilitiesWork closely with the Department of Academic and Student Advising (DASS) and Campus Director to ensure that academic and Student Advising are fully aligned with institution-wide goals, strategic direction, priorities, policies, and regulatory bodiesContinually enhance academic curricula by monitoring and reviewing the quality and consistency of education for students within the guidelines established by the DASS officeMaintain the highest standard for learning, develop and communicate clear expectations, and provide consistent educational support to meet students’ needs and ensure successActively lead and manage the Campus Academic and Student AdvisingEmployees, provide direction, evaluate success, and coach to improve performanceEstablish and maintain communications with the industry and the academic community to promote the SAE programs and services and to build strategic partnershipsMay teach course(s) as determined by Campus Director and fill in for other teachers as necessaryRecruit, train, support, supervise, and evaluate Campus Academic and StudentAdvising employeesApprove teaching assignments and class schedulesEnsure effective implementation of all academic and Student Advising policies and proceduresSupport, monitor, evaluate, and refine the educational process to ensure optimal delivery of approved curricula and an excellent student experienceWork with the SAE USA Librarian to identify needed resources, recommend additions to the school’s holdings, and ensure academic integration with the Learning Resource CenterProvide regular reports of academic metricsParticipate in budget development and implementationOversee inventory and distribution of suppliesRemain current with technology, industry trends, and educational techniquesActively promote SAE on campus and in the community, taking part in open houses, graduation, and other eventsManage the learning management system (Canvas), including setting up new courses.Identify and implement strategies to improve student retentionRecruit, hire and manage General Education faculty (degree-granting institutions only)Other duties as assignedDirector Of Education Key RelationshipsI. Must be able to work at least two(2) weekday evenings until 7:00 p.m and cover for,and observe/meet with, evening faculty. Sitting for long periods. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper, occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials. Moving from place to place within the organization, minimal reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
