Job Title: Help Desk Technician Reports to: Director, Global IT Service Desk Location: Goleta, CA – In-Office The Role The Help Desk Technician I support position will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. This person must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. The Help Desk Technician will work closely with the rest of the Help Desk team to provide a positive customer support experience to the business. This person must also have the ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures and be able to work independently on specific support related tasks. Your Impact The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to: Address and resolve incidents and requests via a ticketing system. Ensures the end-to-end customer experience and single-point-of-contact. Helps answer the Help Desk hotline. Serves as liaison between employees and the IT department to resolve issues. Responsible for new hire computer setups and training. Provides printer support and maintenance. Adheres to the IT policies and procedures. Analyzes and resolves issues regarding the use of computer hardware and software. Works with members of the Help Desk team on projects and initiatives as needed. Performs installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software, and other peripheral devices. Support of computer peripherals, printers, and multi-function devices. Basic troubleshooting of computer networking, VoIP phones, and wireless technology. Update and create knowledge articles Who You Are A motivated self-started with attention to detail An excellent communicator Able to prioritize tasks on impact to the business Able to work in a fast-paced work environment and multi-task effectively We’d love to hear from people with 4-year degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience. CompTIA A+ Certification preferred. Minimum 1-2 year of experience providing IT helpdesk support, strong customer service skills and experience required, must be focus on high performance, emphasizing excellence in customer service. Experience in incident management systems such as Service Now is preferred. Understanding of ITIL processes and ITSM is desired. Strong skills in Microsoft Windows desktop support (Windows 10). Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory. Understanding of networking, and voice over IP phone systems is recommended. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
