Payroll Specialist

Commonwealth Payroll is a fast growing payroll and HR company located in Virginia Beach, VA and they are recruiting for a new Payroll Specialist or Senior Payroll Specialist. This is a newly created position due to growth and a great opportunity to be mentored by an experienced manager. Our benefits include unlimited PTO, a 401k match with a year-end profit share plan, and strong health/dental/vision/supplement insurance offerings.Responsibilities: The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:Work with clients to create and process their payrolls accurately and timelyRespond to customer support tickets and resolve payroll related questions and issuesLeverage an understanding of federal and state taxes, insurance policies, employee benefits, PTO, and accruals to support clients as neededRun and review payroll reports prior to processing to ensure payrolls and taxes are correct and on an ad hoc basis as neededExecute time and attendance processing and interface with payrollProcess correct garnishment calculations and complianceAssist with accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W2s, 1095s, 1099s etc.)Qualifications:4+ years of payroll processing experienceFPC or CPP is preferredA Bachelor's Degree preferredMust be a team player and be able to meet tight deadlines,High level of detail-orientation, time management, and organizational skillsStrong written and oral communication skills.Company Benefits:401k match with an annual profit shareUnlimited PTOMonthly team outingsCasual office dress codeGreat health, dental, and vision insurance plans
