Job Title: Continuous Improvement Coordinator Location: Orem, UT Company: Design Imaging Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Manufacturing Schedule: Full-Time / 5 x 8-hour shifts / In person Monday through Friday Compensation: $52,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience Position Summary Design Imaging is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to help turn employee ideas into completed, documented, and sustained improvements. This hands-on Operational Excellence role works closely with operators and leadership across multiple production departments to coordinate projects, maintain momentum, remove barriers, and build continuous improvement capability. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, curious, and motivated to grow as a Lean practitioner. The coordinator will gain practical experience in project coordination, coaching, Kaizen, 5S, training, data analysis, standard work, and cross-functional improvement while having meaningful influence on how the company operates. The position reports to the Continuous Improvement Lead. Key Responsibilities Coordinate continuous improvement projects from initial submission through completion and follow-up. Maintain accurate project records, including ownership, status, barriers, and next actions. Follow up with operators and leadership to keep open projects visible and moving forward. Approach stalled projects with curiosity, identify barriers, and help determine whether projects should continue, change direction, or close. Coach operators through improvement projects using the EDGE method: Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, and Enable. Work with leadership to schedule improvement activities and increase associate participation. Facilitate 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement activities across multiple production departments. Help operators identify and involve the appropriate stakeholders needed to move projects forward. Review project submissions for clarity, completeness, and appropriate supporting information. Coach operators and leadership on properly submitting, updating, and closing projects. Collect, organize, and interpret basic project and production data to support decisions. Prepare concise project updates and participation information for Operational Excellence reviews. Deliver formal and hands-on training in 5S, the 8 Wastes, and the company’s continuous improvement process. Assist operators and leadership with initiating standard-work or SOP update requests following completed improvements. Lead recurring project reviews and continuous improvement discussions with leadership. Escalate repeated scheduling, participation, or resource barriers to the Continuous Improvement Lead. Support and help sustain other Operational Excellence initiatives as assigned. Required Qualifications Manufacturing or production experience. Practical experience participating in or supporting continuous improvement activities. Basic knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or related continuous improvement methods. Strong organizational skills and consistent attention to follow-through. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to collect, organize, and interpret operational data. Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work across departments and influence others without direct authority. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Comfortable learning and using digital project-tracking and reporting systems. Willingness to work closely with operators and leadership in a production-floor environment. Strong desire to continue learning, grow professionally, and contribute to company improvement. No specific college degree or Lean certification is required. Demonstrated manufacturing experience, continuous improvement involvement, and organizational ability are highly valued. Preferred Qualifications One to three years of experience in manufacturing, project coordination, process improvement, quality, or Operational Excellence. Experience facilitating Kaizen events, 5S activities, or structured improvement projects. Experience maintaining project trackers, action registers, or operational reporting. Experience training or coaching production employees. Experience coordinating work across production and support departments. Familiarity with standard work, visual management, root-cause analysis, and basic Lean problem-solving tools. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.
