ONLY BILINGUAL PROVIDERS NEED APPLY Location: Work in ICE facility in Pearsall, TX supporting the displaced children on the border.Pearsall is a city in and the county seat of Frio County, Texas, with a population of approximately 9,000. It is one of the 100 safest places to live in Texas. As the gateway to the rich agricultural Wintergarden District, Pearsall is endowed with an abundant variety of cultivated agricultural products such as potatoes, peanuts, watermelons, and specialty herbs. It enjoys a comfortable annual average temperature of 71 degrees Fahrenheit and ranching is a big industry as well.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):The PA/NP supports the Shelter medical functions and will treat children within these settings.Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physicals of childrenPerforms standard medical care for all children such as: Intake assessment of health status, Initial Medical Examination (IME), disease diagnosis, plan of care development, treatment modalities, monitoring, request necessary tests and evaluation of children's health status.Conducts rounds and refers children as needed to a specialist or hospital ERScreens for tuberculosis, pregnancy and other contagious diseaseRecommends appropriate isolation as needed to protect health of child and othersOversees or administers vaccinationsInterpret and analyze laboratory results sign results enter into databasePrescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities for children as neededFacilitates the children's transition within and between health care settings (e.g. Observation, Isolation, Intake, and/or Daily Living)Coordinates with Pharmacist as neededAssists with coordination of local hospitals to determine local capabilities, coordinate transfer to higher level of acuity care, stabilization, monitoring and arrange final disposition of children.Documents accurately in medical records, medication administration record, SharePoint, and other databases according to training guidelinesReceives / renders shift report to outgoing / incoming shiftServes as a resource to the medical personnelEducates children on disease process, medication regimen, and healthy lifestyle choicesRequirements:Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant schoolUnrestricted license in the state of TexasFluent in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write)Must work 48-hour work weekMinimum of 6 months clinical experience as a PA/NP working in pediatrics or adolescent medicine with a decent RN backgroundDemonstrated proficiency in the use of basic word processing programsCurrent national certification in specialty area such as NCCPA, AANP or ANCCHave and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)3 years of experience in emergency medicine (preferred)Double occupancy housing and meals provided Full-time, day shift and night shifts available (8am-8pm; 8pm-8am)KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
