Research Assistant - Aviation

Salary/Position Classification 18.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime) 10 hours per week Position will start Fall 2026, estimated start date 8/24/26 100% Remote Work Availability: No Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No Purpose of Position This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. Duties & Responsibilities Working alongside GE Digital to create novel analytics in the Aviation Industry. Supporting AVIT 412 class activities with industry partners. Training internal and external customers on use of the GE EMS software. Creating novel analytics in the GE EMS software. Supporting internal research initiatives. Quantitative data collection. Aggregating data for analysis. Maintaining notes from research meetings and activities. Learning Outcomes As a result of working in this position, the staff member will gain the following skills: Communication Technology Professionalism Collaboration & Teamwork Learning & Application Minimum Requirements Must have successfully completed AVIT 412 (on campus, in person) within the past 12 months. Experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel. Experience with the GE EMS software. Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester. Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
