The company values professionalism, integrity, and a solutions-oriented mindset in all client interactions.Role Description The Associate Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in Winters, CA. This position supports planning and development review activities, including researching zoning and land use regulations, preparing reports, and assisting with development applications. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing planning documents and site plans, drafting staff reports and correspondence, and organizing materials for hearings and meetings. The Associate Planner will interact with clients, agency staff, and community members to gather information, clarify requirements, and help move projects through the approval process. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, updating project tracking systems, and contributing to internal process improvements under the guidance of senior team members.Compensation: $35.00-$45.00/Hr. Depending on experienceQualificationsPlanning and development knowledge, including familiarity with land use, zoning, and environmental review processes.Strong research and analytical skills for reviewing regulations, policies, and project documentation.Clear written and verbal communication skills for reports, presentations, and client interactions.Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines.Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations); experience with planning or GIS tools is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.Ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site team environment and engage professionally with clients and public agencies.Interest in local government processes, community development, and regulatory compliance; prior internship or work experience in planning or development review is beneficial.
