Student and Young Adult Pastor
Position: Student & Young Adult Pastor
Full-Time (40 hours/week) Reports to: Lead Pastor
Position Overview
The Student & Young Adult Pastor provides vision, leadership, and care for students (grades 6–12), their families, college students, and young adults. This role is all about helping the next generation become fully engaged in the mission of Lighthouse Community Church.
You will lead thriving ministries for both students and young adults—building teams, developing leaders, and creating environments where discipleship and evangelism flourish.

Partner with the Kids Director to create smooth transitions into student ministry

Licensed or ordained in The Wesleyan Church
Entrepreneurial mindset and leadership gifting
Strong evangelistic passion
Gifted communicator
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Ministry Oversight (50% | 20 hours/week)
Sunday Mornings
Participate in worship services
Support church-wide responsibilities as needed
Build relationships with students and parents
Student Ministry
Lead weekly youth gatherings (currently Sunday evenings)
Oversee discipleship environments for students
Plan and execute events (camps, retreats, outreach, etc.)
Equip and lead volunteer teams
College & Young Adults
Build meaningful connections with college students and young adults
Create pathways for evangelism, discipleship, and community
Develop and lead gatherings, groups, and outreach efforts
Provide ongoing care, leadership, and development for students, parents, and teams
2. Planning & Team Development (10% | 4 hours/week)
Recruit, train, and develop volunteers and leaders
Coordinate schedules and communication (Planning Center, email, etc.)
3. Staff Responsibilities (20% | 8 hours/week)
Participate in staff and supervisory meetings
Maintain timely communication (respond within 24 hours during the workweek)
Assist with additional pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, visitation, preaching)
4. Choose Your Own Adventure (20% | 8 hours/week)
