Logistics Safety Manager
DescriptionExecute company standards and lead safety initiatives to reduce the risk of industrial injury/illness, ensure food safety, as well as protect company assets at the Fulfillment Center and Spoke locations. Develop goals and strategies for implementation of site Safety/Risk Management, security and safety initiatives. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.Responsibilities- Serve as Safety Committee representative and advisor and promote safety awareness through teamwork, communications, and recognition programs- Oversee site security at the Fulfillment Center and Spoke locations- Maintain an effective Emergency Response team to ensure appropriate measures are taken in the event of an emergency for Fulfillment Center and Spoke locations- Utilize injury/claims analysis reports to identify trends and opportunities for safety improvement- Ensure timely reporting of accidents and completion of thorough accident investigations to determine root cause- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports- Ensure safety and shrink training is executed at site and spoke to include new hire/annual refresher training and that it is completed and updated for associates; ensure all training records and certifications are maintained- Manage food safety policies/procedures and respond to food safety concerns- Serve as subject matter expert and lead in execution of site Safety/Risk/Waste management initiatives with corporate strategy- Develop and implement a Safety Management Plan that achieves corporate/division best practice programs, policies and strategies on Safety/Risk/shrink and associate accident reduction- Oversee monthly audit of the OSHA 300 log and resolution of errors with claims administrators- Work with the corporate Supply Chain manager on response to any OSHA investigations and/or citations at fulfillment center and spoke locations- Work with corporate claims administrator to manage claims and return to work- Oversee site compliance with federal and state regulations as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Food and Drug Administration and Department of Transportation- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures- Maintain ability to work weekends when needed- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsMinimum- High School Diploma or GED- Any previous experience in a Safety/Risk role- Excellent oral/written communication skills- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in safety and food safety- High integrity ability to maintain confidential information- Proficient in Microsoft Office- Excellent operational, consultation and problem resolution skills- Strong management and leadership skillsDesired- Bachelor's Degree- Any experience with behavior based safety- 5+ years of Safety/Risk experience- OSHA 30 Hour- OSHA 10 Hour or SafetyTech Training- Wicklander certified, Reid Certified, LPC, CPP or CFI certification- Knowledge of Kroger enterprise systems- Certified in First Aid and CPR or able to be certified within first 6 month in the position
