Bartender PositionWe are looking for a bartender to greet our guests with hospitality as they arrive into our conference center and function rooms. They will make and serve drinks for our guests. Will work at the pool bar, the resort bar or the banquet/event bar as needed.Benefits:PTOCompetitive PayRetail DiscountsHotel Room DiscountsOngoing Training and Career DevelopmentResponsibilities:Maintain an efficient and professional bar area and provide quality serviceWork the banquet bar by greeting and preparing drinks for guests throughout the functionAccurately record and account for bar inventory soldOversee set-up, breakdown, cleanup and storage of banquet bars and inventoriesVerify supplies and products are properly handled and storedAttend and participate in banquet pre-shift and periodic banquet staff meetingsOther duties as requiredRequirements:Must be 21 or olderMust be an excellent team playerAttendance is essential to the successful performance of this positionMay be required to work varying schedulesProfessionally represent the hotel and property when interacting with guests from the community and industry organizationsProper uniform and maintaining a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per policy is requiredAttendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is requiredQualifications:The individual must possess the job knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job. This being with or without reasonable accommodation, using a combination of knowledge, skills and abilities.Education: High School Diploma or GED preferredExperience: 1-year banquet server experience with our company preferred or past full-service banquet bartender / bartender experience required as substituteSpecific job knowledge, skills and abilities:Ability to read, speak and write basic English in order to communicate with customers and other employeesAbility to exercise good judgmentPossess multi-tasking skillsKnowledge of food and beverage menus, food preparation and presentationAbility to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision at timesAbility to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints independentlyPossess good inter-personal and sales related experiencePossess basic computer skills to be able to use POS system or cash register systemPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, crouch/stoop, twist and reach for extended periods of time. Especially standing for long periods of timeHave moderate to high level of energy and physical staminaExert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneouslyMost work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by restaurant / hotel environmental systemsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. intermittently during workdayAppearance Guidelines:Hotel Department uniform is required.
