Test Technician - 3rd Shift

Job Description Candidate would be a key contributor to our overall testing team. Working both with internal and external customers. Following one-off testing projects from start to finish. Working with test engineers to bring your work to life. You would participate in team and customer meetings to identify requirements, specification, timelines, and customer expectations. Roles and Responsibilities 3rd Shift Position - Base hours are 11:00pm to 7:30am (hours subject to change dependent on testing needs) Support engineers/customers when needed Setting up test cells Cleaning/Organizing test cells and facilities Fabricating and/or machining fixturing Keeping workspace clean (Shop/Trash cans/Fab room) Keeping cells running Other duties as required Qualifications Education and Skill Requirements High School degree or equivalent experience. 2+ years of relevant work experience in the automotive (or other propulsion system) industry preferred. Fluency in the English language is required. Demonstrated record of driving results. Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills required. Able to relay technical information in a way your audience understands. Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient with any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.). Flexibility to support service activity both off-site and outside of normal working hours. Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area. Working knowledge of the automotive industry preferred. Experience in the vehicle testing and validation industry preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organization skills. Able to function as part of a team, with members of varying job levels, and work cooperatively toward team goals. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers and suppliers. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for traveling between multiple work sites as needed. Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Required on-site work as needed, per our Remote Work Policy. Give and accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respect. Consistently adhere to, and support all UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Candidate recommended to have their own basic automotive tool set. Physical Demands Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noise. Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Able to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned duties. Requirements include, but are not limited to stand, walk, sit, twist, bed, life, see, speak, hear. May require occasional travel (locally, nationally, internationally). Desired Skills Hold a current US driving license. Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications. Technical degree in automotive related discipline or equivalent experience. Advanced experience with hand tools required. Understanding of electrical schematics and drawings a plus. Good written and verbal communication skills. Team player with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and management. Due to the nature of work, we perform; applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Resident. 1-5+ years of mechanical work in either automotive or fabrication. Familiarity with electric motors, pumps, and VFDs a plus. Ability to work and problem solve on your own vehicle or ATV. Excellent communication, problemsolving and critical thinking skills. Ability to work hands-on with mechanical and electrical wiring. Creative problem solving. Strong focus on safety & quality. Quick learner in a fast-paced atmosphere. Flexibility to support test activities both off-site and outside of normal working hours. Willing to undergo a Criminal background check.
