Job Description – JIRA DeveloperPosition: JIRA Developer Location: Hybrid – Pittsburgh, PA or New Jersey, NJ Experience: 5–10 Years Type: Contract / Full-timePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced JIRA Developer with strong expertise in designing and customizing JIRA workflows, dashboards, and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience in Atlassian tools, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement custom JIRA workflows, fields, screens, permissions, and notification schemes.Customize JIRA dashboards, filters, reports, and automation rules for different teams.Integrate JIRA with other tools (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, ServiceNow, etc.).Provide ongoing administration, configuration, and user support.Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into JIRA solutions.Develop and maintain JIRA plugins, scripts, and add-ons as needed.Ensure system performance, security, and scalability of the JIRA platform.Document best practices, configurations, and workflows.Required Skills & Qualifications5–10 years of hands-on experience as a JIRA Developer / Atlassian Specialist.Strong experience with JIRA administration, workflow customization, scripting (e.g., Groovy, ScriptRunner, Automation for JIRA).Knowledge of JIRA REST APIs and integrations with third-party applications.Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management practices.Strong communication skills to interact with business users, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.Familiarity with Atlassian suite (Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, etc.).Ability to work in a hybrid model (onsite + remote).Preferred QualificationsAtlassian Certified JIRA Administrator / Developer certification.Experience with migration projects (e.g., JIRA Server to Cloud/Data Center).Scripting experience with Python or Shell for automation.Exposure to DevOps pipelines and CI/CD tools.
