Job DescriptionMaterials ManagerMonroe, Ohio$110,000 – $125,000 (DOE) + 10% BonusMonday – Friday (Days)Automotive ManufacturingWe are working on behalf of a high-volume Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility in Monroe, Ohio, to recruit an experienced Materials Manager. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced, just-in-time production environment, responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials across the entire plant.Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end materials function, including Inbound raw materials, Production scheduling & planning, Inventory control, Outbound logistics and shipping.You will lead a core materials team (6–8 direct reports) across planning, inventory, and shipping, with oversight of a wider team of material handlers and drivers (~15–20) supporting plant operations. This role is critical to maintaining on-time delivery, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction in a demanding automotive environmentDuties and responsibilities as the Materials Manager include:Lead the materials, planning, and logistics function across the facilityManage the flow of materials from receipt through to shipmentOversee production scheduling and inventory control to support JIT manufacturingEnsure on-time delivery and customer requirements are consistently metDrive inventory accuracy, FIFO, and cost control initiativesManage and develop the Materials team, including supervisors and coordinatorsMaintain accuracy across EDI, ERP/MRP systems, and reportingAct as a key link between operations, supply chain, and customersSupport lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (TPS, TPM, Kaizen, 5S)Experienced Required:Automotive manufacturing experience is essentialProven leadership experience within materials, supply chain, logistics in a manufacturing plantStrong understanding of just-in-time (JIT) environments and high-volume productionExperience across production planning, inventory control, and shipping/logisticsFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred), EDI, and inventory systemsStrong leadership, communication, and organisational skillsAbility to manage both people and process in a fast-paced environmentCommutable from: Dayton, Cincinnati, Monroe, Mason, Middletown, Springboro, Hamilton, Fairfield, Loveland, Sharonville, LebanonWe are also open to candidates currently operating as: Supply Chain Manager, Materials & Planning Manager, Production Planning Manager, Logistics Manager (Manufacturing), Inventory Control Manager, Operations / Materials Manager.
