Role Overview As a Quality Engineer II, you will ensure products and processes meet quality, safety, and performance standards by developing and implementing quality control systems, monitoring production, identifying defects, and collaborating with teams to find and implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities Customer support: Primary quality contact for key customers
Host on-site audits
Review of customer quality requirements to ensure compliance
Prepare PPAP’s, AS9102 FAI’s and inspection plans for customer approval
Timely completion of customer issued CAR’s
Work directly with department supervisors and manufacturing engineers to drive continuous improvement
Responsible for tracking of key quality metrics: Cost of Poor Quality, RPPM and Customer Complaints
Assist in the creation of PFMEA’s, Control Plans and process mapping
NCR/MRB activity
Use of statistical techniques to drive improvement actions
Create inspection plans
Perform MSA’s
Process and quality system auditing
Initiate and lead problem solving activities
Lead and assist in continuous improvement events (kaizens, just do it, etc)
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field required and 5 years of quality related experience
Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment required
Formal Lean/Six Sigma training desired; Green or Black belt is a plus
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, blueprints, GD&T, financial reports, and legal documents
Excellent problem‑solving skills
Proficient in Excel, PPT and Minitab or equivalent statistical software
Proficiency in reading engineering drawings & geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
Working knowledge of the ISO 9001 standards and quality systems; AS9100 experience desired
Strong continuous improvement and leadership skills to drive quality, delivery, cost improvement, and results
Strong mechanical inspection ability; experience with measurement tools (verniers, micrometers)
Ability to work individually or in a team; fast‑paced environment tolerance
Solid organization, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Working knowledge of Solidworks and AutoCAD design packages
Must be a U.S. person (for compliance standards)
Salary Expected Base Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000
Physical Demands & Work Environment Regular use of hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Must meet State Department policies and procedures. Applicants not meeting these requirements will not be eligible.
