Work Location: Goleta - 600 Pine Avenue (CA38), or Oxnard-CAO1-2601 Camino Del Sol (A672) Job Title: Engineering - Engineer Manufacturing 2 Job Description: Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Scope of work/project for this positionWorking with systems that are a fresh design, and be able to put work instructions together to assist the team with building the itemAutomation knowledge for repeat buildsMay incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Qualifications -BS in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering. 2+ experience required**Mechanically / electrically oriented manufacturing engineering experience (ideally in the Aerospace industry).Completed a significant manufacturing engineering project, ideally one where they led a team to accomplish the individual project tasks.Prefer green belt or black belt certified.Experience with ERP systems a plusExperience working directly with assembly technicians, ideally some hands-on experience with high-reliability composites or electro-mechanical assembly processesDemonstrates ability to identify problems and bring cross-functional group together to find a resolutionExperience with Process Development for manufacturing of a new designRoot Cause and Corrective Action experience (RCCA)NASA J-STD certification a plus, but not required
