Our community-focused team works every day to help residents live healthier, more stable lives with dignity and respect.If you're passionate about food and want your work to make a meaningful difference in people's lives, we'd love to meet you.The RoleWe're looking for a Cook who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and serving a community in need. In this role, you'll prepare daily breakfasts and lunches (Monday–Friday) for residents who are medically unable to cook for themselves or who need additional support.You'll collaborate with our case management team to ensure meals meet residents' dietary and nutritional needs, while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment.What You'll DoPrepare and serve healthy breakfasts and lunches for residents each weekdayFollow special dietary requirements for medically compromised residentsAssist with weekly menu planningMaintain kitchen cleanliness and organization (equipment, pantry, utensils)Create and manage food and supply listsFollow Texas food service sanitation regulationsParticipate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiativesWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent2+ years of cooking experience in an institutional, commercial, or similar kitchenAbility to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for extended periodsValid driver's licenseCommitment to working respectfully with diverse communitiesPassion for service and helping othersKitchen & Food SafetyTo maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment, staff follow standard food service guidelines, including wearing a chef's coat, apron, hair restraint, and slip-resistant shoes while preparing meals.Why Join ASD?Make a direct impact in your communityWork with a mission-driven teamStable weekday scheduleOpportunity for training and professional developmentReady to cook with purpose?
