Structural Engineer

ReLogic Research, Inc. is seeking a self-starting, highly motivated, experienced (3+ years) Structural Engineer with thermo-structural analysis of fiber reinforced composite materials for a full-time position at ReLogic. This Structural Engineer role will be in direct support of ReLogic’s efforts to solve priority problems highly aligned with our national defense strategy.Primary Responsibilities Focus Areas: Hypersonics, Tactical Missile Systems, AviationWork with team members, technical managers, and subject matter experts to develop analysis skills relevant to speed missile and aviation technology developmentConduct thermos-structural analysis relating to hypersonic and high-speed vehicle designUtilize test data and modeling and simulation tools to predict and measure high temperature material states of stress and deflectionsApply structural engineering best practices to existing applications and new developments including test-driven development activitiesDevelop written reports, briefings, and other documentation to present internally and to customer POCsRequirements & Desired SkillsStrong interest in analysis (80% of time)Active Secret security clearance or ability to receive and maintain clearanceBS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (MS desired)0-10 years of general experience in thermo-structural analysis (3+ desired)Ability to travel both domestic and internationalExperience with solid and surface based (laminates) models of composites in Abaqus or Ansys Experience with maintaining multiple meshes (CFD, thermal, structural) and mapping data between meshes is desiredExperience with FAA best practices for Fiber Composite Analysis and DesignUnderstanding of micromechanics and lamination theory desiredThis is full-time salaried position with full benefits offered.
