Shift Leader
Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for oversee all operations leading/directing railcar production for Service Center. Accountable for leadership of skilled labor employees including all aspects of safety, quality, production and cost. Ensures the highest quality work in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
Responsibilities
Plans, organizes and supervises shift production in accordance with priority goals and availability of resources to ensure adequate and timely completed repairs. Provide leadership, direction and management for the day-to-day operation for all departments ensuring that railcars are appropriately processed and maintained correctly. Performs in process quality audits.
Communicates work area status/activities to the Production Manager(s). Communicates with other work areas to facilitate smooth car flow. Responsible for shift transition between shifts and shift pass down.
Uses technical experience, expertise and problem solving ability to achieve and maintain a quality repair. Maintains an effective work force by training, counseling and motivating direct reports. Prepares estimates for repairs; performs in process and outbound inspection to railcars in accordance with AAR and GATX standards. Plans, assigns and directs focus of groups of employees in the production and maintenance classification.
Ensure that all necessary administrative work is complete and accurate.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's or associate's degree preferred
3-5 years' experience in fast-paced production environment with preferably 2-4 years mechanical railcar repair experience.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

As of the post date, the salary range for this position is:
Min
USD $80,800.00/Yr.
Max
USD $98,000.00/Yr.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
